About the Artist
John Freeman

John lives in Adelaide, South Australia. He has been happily married to his wife Janie for over 35 years and they have four children.

​John trained as an Art Teacher and taught for over a decade. He also trained as an artist, however, it is only recently since his retirement from commercial work that he has been painting seriously.​

​​"I have had a love of art all my life, in fact some of my earliest positive memories involve painting figures in infant school".

In between times, John was involved in commerce for four decades where he managed to paint images now and then, in his spare time. Since his retirement and his four children coming into adulthood, he has had the time and pleasure to practise art.​

"For me art has provided a range of functions, from the opportunity for self expression to the simple joy of creating something."

​The creative practices of painting and drawing have been a spiritual practice for John in many ways. ​This is expressed as joy, beauty and playfulness in John's art.

While my life has been greatly influenced by the Evangelical Christian tradition, I have recently had an "awakening" into the great expanse of the "Divine Milieu"
